Private Practice Interest Group

The MWP Private Practice Interest group continues to meet the second Saturday of each month. The meeting is held on the second floor of the Black Bear Coffee Shop at the Como Park Pavilion
from 9-11 am.  Click to view a map.

This group began to meet in 2002 and consistently has 10-15 participates at each meeting. The group continues to be one of support and encouragement with a range of expertise
around the table working in the area of private practice. Since the group's conception, many of our members have taken the leap from agency work to a full time private practice and have felt very supported by the group in doing so.

We welcome new and seasoned members who are interested in learning more about private practice or want support in building up their own practices. If you are feeling alone in this venture and would like to feel encouraged, this is the group for you. There is a wealth of energy, information, humor, and wisdom at each meeting.

Topics that may be discussed include public relations, marketing, forms, malpractice insurance, fee for service, insurance panels, self-care for the therapist, strategies for getting referrals, etc.
The only requirement for attendance is that participants be a present MWP member, and there is no special charge for the group.
This is not, however, a clinical consultation group in which clients and their issues are discussed.
